At the Dominican Association of Sommeliers, we work every day to promote wine culture and the ongoing training of our professionals. Our calendar of activities brings together the main events, competitions, and certifications that mark the growth and excellence of sommeliers in the Dominican Republic. Here you will find the most relevant dates of the month, with information on the semifinals of the 2025 National Sommelier Competition and the international ASI certifications, which represent a fundamental step in the career of every sommelier. 📍 Wednesday, September 3 | 7:00 PM 3rd Semifinalist – “Best Sommelier of Italian Wines” Competition We continue with the elimination rounds to choose the next Best Sommelier of the Dominican Republic 2025. This event brings together professionals who demonstrate their technical skills, service, and oenological knowledge. 📍 Wednesday, September 10 | 4:00 PM 4th Semifinalist Another night of excellence and passion for sommeliers, where we will meet the next winner of the grand finale. 📍 Wednesday, September 17 | 7:00 PM 5th Semifinalist Last semifinal to determine the sommeliers who will compete in the national grand finale. 📍 Monday, September 29 | 4:00 PM ASI Certification (Association de la Sommellerie Internationale) – ASI Level 1 Certification Assessment for sommeliers seeking international accreditation, with theory, service, and tasting tests. 📍 Tuesday, September 30 | 4:00 PM ASI Certification (Association de la Sommellerie Internationale) – ASI Level 2 Certification A more demanding exam that endorses advanced sommeliers' skills, recognized in more than 60 countries.
